Emerging Leaders Program

A practical program for aspiring and first-time leaders

The skills that got you promoted are rarely the skills that will make you a good leader.

The Emerging Leaders Program is an 8-module online course built for aspiring or emerging leaders to prepare them with practical self and team leadership skills, in an energising digital environment. It moves you from doing the job well to leading a team with foundational understanding of self-awareness, resilience and leadership identity first, then the communication and trust skills that make people want to be in your team.

Inside the Program

Six modules, each built around a real shift in how you lead.

Leadership Visioning — defining leadership on your own terms, not inheriting someone else’s. You’ll get honest about the traps new leaders fall into, and create your own leadership identity instead of running someone else’s playbook.
Building Self-Awareness — using reflection as a genuine leadership tool, not just an end-of-day habit. You’ll map your strengths (and where they tip into weaknesses), get clear on your values and purpose, and define the leader you actually want to become.
Resilience at Work — managing your energy, not just your time. You’ll map where your energy drains and where it’s restored across a normal week, and build one resilience ritual you can actually sustain, before burnout forces the issue.
Communicating with Impact — the structure and presence that make people actually listen. A simple way to open with the headline, read the room, and stop over-explaining, so your message lands the first time, not the third.
Being an Inclusive Leader — earning trust before you need it. The small daily behaviours that build psychological safety, and what genuine inclusion looks like in how you lead day to day.
Building Diverse Networks — growing a bench of people who see things differently. The program closes with you mapping your network, spotting the gaps, and building a plan that aligns to your organisation and career goals.

Welcome video – an introduction to show you around and make sure you’re prepped and ready for the program.
6 modules — 30-minute videos + workbooks, one for each core shift in how you lead.
Consolidation video — at the end of the program, to help you implement your new skills and knowledge.
Email series — to guide you through the program experience, week by week.

Have a cohort and want to add a live component to the program?

We can customise this program with either in person or online live components such as a launch, interactive workshops to add conversation and discussion, and a reflective final session to support the learning with experienced facilitator, Alicia Curtis.

Hello –

I’m Alicia Curtis

I’m a leadership facilitator, speaker and change maker who’s spent the last two decades helping purpose driven people become courageous, values-led leaders. With a Masters in Business Leadership, and the co-author of Difference Makers: A Leader’s Guide to Championing Diversity on Boards, and my work has been recognised with several leadership awards along the way.

But the credentials aren’t really the point – what matters is 20+ years spent in the room with people, helping them see their own leadership potential, shift their mindset, and actually step into their leadership. Whether it’s through The Espresso Club community, a leadership program such as the Emerging Leaders in Governance Program, or a conversation about how we create real change, what lights me up is seeing leaders step into their full potential to make a positive impact in their workplaces and communities.
